Who Is Gary Hursey?
Gary Hursey has lived in St. Clair County his entire life. He is a proud member of this community and has watched it grow and change over the decades. That deep connection to the county is what drives his commitment to public service.
Gary believes that the office of County Clerk is one of the most important in local government. It oversees elections, maintains vital records, and serves as a direct link between residents and their government. He is committed to bringing transparency, efficiency, and integrity to that office.
One of Gary's core convictions is that Voter ID is a reasonable and necessary safeguard for our elections. While the State of Illinois does not currently require it, Gary will work tirelessly to advocate for changes that ensure only legal voters cast ballots — protecting the integrity of every election in St. Clair County.
